Grease Removal

What do you do when you get grease on your clothes? Just reach for the cream hand cleaner. It will take the grease out of your clothes, just like it removes grease from your hands.

Smelly Pillowcases...

Someone from another site mentioned that her pillowcases and sheets still smell after being laundered, no matter what she used. I suggested that maybe it was the stuffing inside the pillows that was smelling, and/or the mattress itself. Toss out the pillows. Wash the mattress cover, and turn and rotate the mattress monthly.

Tape It

If you don't have a lint brush or roller for your clothes, use tape! It does the same thing as the lint brush or roller. Wide packing tape works the best. All you have to do is take off a fairly large piece of tape and tape the ends together. Roll with your hands across your clothes, and it will pick up anything that's there. It really works well for pet hair, especially on black or dark-colored clothes.

Lint from Dryers

My lint trap is on the top of my dryer. When I clean the trap, lint falls on the top of the dryer. So, with the ball of lint in my hand, I run it on top of my dryer and gather up all the lint that has fallen. Presto...clean dryer top!

Tape It

I'm on the road a lot, so I live out of my suitcase. I keep a roll of masking tape (wide) in my suitcase, so if I have any kind of lint from hotel dryers, human or dog hair, anything that clings to my clothing, I just pull off a long strip, stick to my garmet and pull off what ever it is sticking to my cloths. It's cheaper than those lint removers you buy from the stores. Keep a roll in your car, too! It comes in handy for other uses.

Dryer Filter Cleanout

The tube from a SCOTT Towel roll fits well over the vacuum hose. Place it over the hose and pinch the end almost flat. Remove the dryer lint trap and vacuum the lint that you can't reach from behind the trap. A cleaner lint trap is a safer one!

GOOP for Stains

The dollar stores sell a product by the name of GOOP. It is an industrial strength cleaner used to clean tough stains like grease off of hands. I use it on clothes. Just cover the stain completely with GOOP. Rub in vigorously. I use my nails to really rub it into the fabric, but be careful on delicate items. I then put a small dab of laundry detergent on same spot area and rub in again. Let it sit 1/2 hour and launder as usual. I have used this for oil, gum, blood, paint (if not dried yet) and other tough stains.

Smelly Sneakers?

Place your smelly gym shoes or sneakers in a plastic bag and into the freezer overnight. The cold kills the germs and stops the noxious odors without laundering.
